Same here, priority is too low.
If Splashy claims to make the boot process nicer, then it should not result in users not knowing what is going on. If a standard fsck file system check is performed, a timeout occuring in splashy and a display not showing the process status does not seem to be a good fit for a nice boot process.

Please let me know if I can contribute in any way to make this process visible, or I will also have to remove the splashz application on my installations.
