It might be worth investigating on Xfce bugzilla (bugzilla.xfce.org),
though I'm not sure the original developer has much interest on it.
I decided to ask upstream whether the project was dead. Response from
B. Tarricone:
Yes, it's dead.
I have quite a bit on my plate right now, and I've been experiencing a
bug with 'mplayer' for most of 2009... so instead of wasting my time
backtracing 'xfmedia' (just for the experience), I've decided to purge
it and try debugging 'mplayer' instead.
I've already replaced my 'xfmedia' launcher with a launcher that runs
xine with my playlist, so goodbye 'xfmedia'. :-(
You might consider dropping it sooner than later, if it's not supported
by anyone at all and starting to bitrot.
Thanks,
DW
