You're going to have to give me some better reference as to why this is required (now?), and yet nobody has noticed or reported any problems with them in the last 10 years ... If it's a local issue on your machine, as the evidence would seem to suggest, then I'm not sure that changing it for everyone who hasn't had problems is the correct thing to do here.
