hi, please note that the whole idea behind zsync is to make the download of large files more efficent, e.g. iso images. in most cases that does not require https, and it might even be stupid because of the increased server load.
so this is perhaps simply "not supported", and not a bug. i do agree however that the error reporting leaves a lot to be desired. i'll talk it over with upstream and assume future version will bail out earlier and with a better error message cu robert -- Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com
