This is (was) an upstream BibleTime issue, once which is already fixed in the bibletime 2.2-1 packages which are now in Debian sid (unstable) and which will hopefully be automatically migrated into Debian squeeze (testing) tomorrow when they reach their "10 days in unstable" minimum wait time. Please do upgrade to bibletime 2.2.-1 and let us know whether this release solves the issue for you. I am pretty confident it will.
