Then, simply logging in on another VT gives you the new PAM limits.

True, I've decided to place a file in /etc/security/limits.d/ instead of
messing with limits.conf. (multiple configuration files instead of a
single large one, same with modprobe.d, amavis and so on)

I just noticed that the debconf template is ambiguous. Will change that.
