Hi,

Rather bizarrely the executable seems to be linked to both libavutil.so.49 and
libavutil.so.50, though this is probably an irrelevance.

First things first, there's no libavutil.so.50 in Debian, so wherever
this comes from, you need to clean this up.

Once this is out of the way, we can track this down if the problem
still occurs. Please ensure your ffmpeg packages are of Debian origin,
too.

This may be where the problem lies. I had several packages installed from www.debian-multimedia.org, including ffmpeg and all the libav{codec, format, etc} packages. However, I've tried to get rid of them and got to the state where mt-daapd is not installable:

Package mt-daapd is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package mt-daapd has no installation candidate

However, I've manually checked each of its dependencies (now installed from the main debian archive, not the multimedia one) and they are all there.

The alignment problem might very well be the issue indeed. It's
astonishing that nobody reported it yet, unless there's been some
recent code changes in ffmpeg's Vorbis support. The fix should be
pretty straightforward.

Let's not worry about it until I confirm it's present in core-squeeze-only packages.
