 My policy is not to produce shared libraries if upstream does not
 provide shared libraries.  Since Henry hasn't declared FTGL to be
 finished (there are a few things that need fixing or implementing)
 there's no shared library.

 I can fix that, but I'm going to break gem and vtk (blender, too,
 perhaps).  With the next upload I'll add a libftgl_pic.a which you guys
 have to use if you are building shared libraries.

 Yann, BTW, is there a reason why tulip embeds FTGL's source?
