Did keepassx work before? Does keepassx work with a fresh, empty database?

Unfortunately that strace is not helpful to analyse the crash. I cannot
reproduce the crash either, so that I have to ask you to create a
meaningful backtrace in order to locate the exact source line where the
crash happens.

Moreover, please not that I don't have detailed knowledge of the
keepassx source. If a proper backtrace is provided, can try
investigating it on a best efford basis, but you might get a much more
qualified response if you would contact upstream (preferably with the
backtrace) directly:
