Thanks for the tips. What if I would like to turn a few of my scripts into a
Debian
package to become part of the distribution? How do I become part of the Debian
team?

I've tried to summarize it at
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/FAQ

In short: subscribe to the pkg-multimedia mailing list, help out with
exsting bugs, send patches, and you'll be granted commit access.

Thank you. I'll follow these steps and also submit my scripts to the
developers' list; it
may take some time, though, as I've told you.

I know the official website tells you to write to two existing developers --- I
did but I
have not received any reply.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you approached them in private or on a
public mailing list? Can you provide references to some public webarchive?

I took their e-mail addresses from the Debian website and wrote to them, as
suggested on
the website. I never received an error message. One of the people was Michael
Piefel
<pie...@debian.org>; I wrote to him on 12 September, 2008.
