I never received a bug report about aufs in Lenny, this is the first one (as you may see in the bug tracking system).

Your information does not make any sense. Aufs is a stackable filesystem, so there are always other filesystems involved. And by the way, the linux-patch-aufs package description says: If you use mounted NFS as an aufs branch filesystem, then you need to apply the lhash patch to your kernel. IF this is what you do, please build your own kernel, and do not report bugs about unsupported things. IF not, please give a more precise explanation. > The developper of aufs writes that it is better to use newer versions of > aufs2, but imho Lenny should provide a stable solution usable with > vanilla kernels. The use of aufs2 is problematic because it requires many patches to the kernel. That is why it is not packaged yet. We first need to find a way to work around these patches or to convince the kernel team to patch the kernel. But aufs2 will never be made available as an update for users of stable. And Lenny would have provided a aufs module supporting this if their had been a bug report **before** the freeze (or at least there would have been the possibility). But this is the first time I am notified of any problems related to aufs in Lenny. By the way, you could also try to build the version of aufs in testing or unstable, this may work for you.
