Summary: Latest Emacs will switch focus away from Occur buffer
when clicked with left-mouse.
Impossible to bring focus into Occur-buffer with mouse.
This bug should be dealt with by upstream.
Previous versions of Emacs would handle the left and middle mouse
button differently in an occur (or grep) buffer.
The left mouse button would place the cursor/focus into the occur
buffer, while the middle mouse button would jump to the point
of occurrence.
Latest Emacs has changed that and will also jump to the point of
occurrence on left mouse button. The effect is that it is impossible
to place the focus in the Occur buffer (for scrolling it) with the
mouse. One has to use C-x o.
In the working context of checking many occurrences, not all of which
need looking up, this is very tedious.
It would be nice to bring the previous behaviour back.
