Please tell me how you will run grub-install when the system is not booting?

That is not a sufficent answer - even for this problem nor for the problems with
grub 1.96!

I can only boot knoppix and a grub-install will install the grub used by 
knoppix!
There is no chance to get a running grub.cfg again.
And i don't understand how to edit it manually.
The syntax with this suspect ID's is not understandible.
Grub 1.96 looks like made by Microsoft!
