Hi Manoj,

thanks for the fast answer.

Hmm.. I am not sure that I have make the report clear enough. My problem
(with this bug report) is not the dependency for ncurses. My problem is
that the debian packages are not built (linux-header-*.deb and
linux-image-*.deb).

The kernel gets built normally but only the packages are not created.
Moreover the modules images (in my case cdfs-*.deb and
nvidia-kernel-*.deb get created properly.

Yes, that's clear and I suggest just to higher the dependency for
ncurses from suggest to recommend. But that's another bug report
(514554).

So the problem is no dependency problem. Just downgrading the
kernel-package to the version 10.067 from etch makes everything to work
fine.

I search a bit further and find bug 501699. As I use different position
of fakeroot in the build of the kernel image and the modules I think
that could be related to that bug. ("make-kpkg --rootcmd fakeroot ..."
vs. "fakeroot make-kpkg ..."; the last is used to build the module
images and work fine. The first is used to build the linux-image and
fails to deliver a package. The different methode to call fakeroot was
necessary until now as "make-kpkg --rootcms fakeroot ..." did not work
for modules ever.)
