Please direct their question to me if they have any. I'm available
using email (will most likely respond the same day) or if they
see a bug a bug report against the package is welcome.

I fully agree that this is a very good advantage.

Good point. The support is simple. After install the deb packages are
put in a specific directory. If a new server is installed they are
copied in to the apt cache directory before install starts. This makes
downloading using apt much faster as most (or all) packages are
already there.

This only works with apt, and I do not know enough about automatic
rpm installtion to tell if it would be easy to do there.

I see. That can explain why I do not get so many questions or bug reports.

Unfortunatly I do not have enough time to hang around in IRC channels.
I maintain about 65 debian packages, work full time (non open source work)
and drive a private company as well. :-)
