The same behavior visible on my new motherboard with ICH10 and JMicron PATA chip. A HDD and DVD burner are connected to that PATA channel. HDD works ok (is jumpered as SLAVE) and DVD (MASTER) reports this log. It starts later after startup, not in the boot time. After e.g. one hour, it starts reporting and the DBUS/HAL is being notified which causes my Gnome to think I've inserted an audio CD into the drive. I tried to use hdparm and set UDMA33 to the DVD drive but without any changein this behavior. DVD was previously in a different machine (debian ia32, ICH5) and without any problems. In the case of this mulfunction, I'm unable to operate the drive, even eject doesnt work. Only way is to reset the device with the hdparm command.
