I could reproduce that bug on woody with teTeX 1.0.7 and teTeX 2.0.2, but I could not with teTeX 2.0.2 on sarge (at the time of submit). Unfortunately I failed to compile 1.0.7 on sarge to prove that it was not the fault of teTeX. But it is closed right now anyway.
