Package: xffm4 Version: 4.0.6-1 Severity: important When opening files (e.g. by double clicking) xffm4 considers everything after the first dot in the filename to be the filename extension. For example given the following files:
a.mp3 a.b.mp3 a.b.c.mp3 a.b.c.d.mp3 Except for the first one, xffm asks for the program to open the file with for each of them and adds the following entries to ~/.xfce4/xffm/applications.xml: <extension id=".b.mp3" application="xmms"/> <extension id=".b.c.mp3" application="xmms"/> <extension id=".b.c.d.mp3" application="xmms"/> <extension id=".b.c.d.e.mp3" application="xmms"/> This renders xffm almost unusable to me because quickly browsing and opening files is the whole point in using it and having to specify the appropriate application for almost every file as well as a messed up and endless growing applications.xml is rather annoying.
