Hello, I'm not a developer but a wordpress debian package user, and I think that it's greatly supported. Any security alert reported is patched quickly. Maybe versionitis could be improved, but currently debian is in freeze and 2.6.x needed a collateral package update so I think package mantainer has done everything on his hand.
On the other hand, I thought version 2.6.x was uploaded to experimental. I think Andrea could give us more info about this. As far as I know it was pending of a tinymce package update that it's on his way as mails on this bug (#490977) report. If anyone is interested on wordpress debian package, I recommend subscribing to wordpress package tracking system to get info about bugs reported and package releases. Please visit http://packages.qa.debian.org/w/wordpress.html. I don't know if there is any other way of getting more info about this package.
