If you have Ubuntu sources configured you might install Ubuntu packages which makes the check work. After all there is but one reason for this, to make sure an Ubuntu dir does not have an effect on a pure Debian system. However, what I failed to see was that /etc/apt/sources.lst is not the only way to configure apt sources, so yes, I need to change this. > Is there something wrong with /etc/debian_version? Yes: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/debian_version lenny/sid [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /mounts/ubuntu/etc/debian_version lenny/sid There simply is no difference there. :-) Michael -- Michael Meskes Michael at Fam-Meskes dot De, Michael at Meskes dot (De|Com|Net|Org) Michael at BorussiaFan dot De, Meskes at (Debian|Postgresql) dot Org ICQ: 179140304, AIM/Yahoo: michaelmeskes, Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Go VfL Borussia!
