Closing as a non-bug, as per upstream.
Still a bug. Either in the documentation for not mentioning any schema
related things, or in the code for not rejecting it.
This is fixed upstream, and will be in OpenLDAP 2.4.12.
Or to be more concise, the documentation has been updated for
slapd-ldap(5) and slapd-meta(5) to more clearly note the requirement for
the schema info, etc.
Other fixes for slapo-pcache behavior when things are misconfigured may
be made, but that has not yet happened.
right now :) slapo-pcache(5) will not cache queries that wouldn't be
answered correctly from the cache; it will log a warn about the
offending entry's DN at pcache level.
