I don't personnally use any C++ interface to mpfr (I only used mpfr once and eventually realized it wasn't the right tool for that problem), I was working on gmpxx and thought I'd look at what mpfr does.
I just reported an issue, I'll let someone more knowledgeable see what should be done.
