I remember having noticed the same issue.
$ nm /usr/bin/rhythmbox
nm: /usr/bin/rhythmbox: no symbols
$ ldd /usr/bin/rhythmbox | grep nss
libnss3.so.1d => /usr/lib/libnss3.so.1d (0xb6889000)
libnssutil3.so.1d => /usr/lib/libnssutil3.so.1d (0xb6875000)
uname -a
Linux hestia 2.6.24-1-686 #1 SMP Thu May 8 02:16:39 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
