As the bottom line, it works for me, I'm actually replying to your message in a GSSAPI-authenticated imaps folder on my dovecot server. I suspect something else is broken on your system, or your setup is different in some way. Could you try installing the mutt-dbg package and producing a backtrace with gdb?
