I apologize for the belated reply. It took me a while to figure out the
'dget' stuff.

I ran the command and installed the resulting .deb files:

xscreensaver_5.05-2_i386.deb
xscreensaver-data_5.05-2_i386.deb
xscreensaver-data-extra_5.05-2_i386.deb
xscreensaver-gl_5.05-2_i386.deb
xscreensaver-gl-extra_5.05-2_i386.deb

And the following is the screen output. FYI, I am starting from the
single monitor configuration:
----
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xscreensaver -nosplash &
[1] 27134
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ unknown chip id 0x791f, can't guess.
libGL warning: 3D driver returned no fbconfigs.

----

In short, when I go from single to dual monitor setup, xscreensaver
lives (however, when I do lock the screen, only my laptop screen is
locked and the external monitor still appears accessible), but when I
switch from dual to single, xscreensaver seems to die.

Please let me know if I didn't follow the directions correctly or if you
require more information.

Regards,

Andrzej
