ok. then I will retire their use here, too. Perhaps some debconf notice would be useful? I'm using them almost excusively in my servers ... > > scsi-SATA_SAMSUNG_HD501LJS0MUJ1DP612964 [that's from udev 0.114-2 (testing)] > > scsi-1ATA_SAMSUNG_HD501LJ_S0MUJ1DP612964 > > This is more interesting, but I cannot reproduce the issue on my system > (especially the lack of the underscore, are you totally sure that it was > present in the old names?). The listenings are copied verbatimly (but I've just rechecked). The 1 in 1ATA looked like some bit error to me, but redownloading/reinstalling didn't fix it (and apt-secure should catch such things anyway, shouldn't it?). Actually I just saw that udev 0.114-2 (from testing) doesn't work, too. In my /etc/crypttap the entries have a _hyphen_ like follows: ata-SAMSUNG_HD501LJ-S0MUJ1DP612964-part3 That must have been the udev right before 0.124-2, but that's no longer on my platter, so I couldn't test. So there are about 3 variants of "persistent" names ;) > What is the content of /etc/scsi_id.config? # # scsi_id configuration # # lower or upper case has no effect on the left side.
