I ran:

    sudo pgrep -fl 'xul|ice|fire'

...but the only results mentioned 'firewire' and '/dev/input/mice',
which I assume are irrelevant.

After some prompting on IRC, I tried:

rm -rf ~/.mozilla; iceweasel -no-remote -ProfileManager

...and the Profile Manager appeared and created a shiny new profile for
me. After I created a new profile, it seems I can now run 'iceweasel'
any time I want and it works.

Thanks for all your help!
