It works fine on armel with all the xview programs I have tested.
I'd say that working perfectly for 11 years without modification and
being ported to a dozen architectures that never even existed when it
was written is a plus point for xview.
Being one of the first X toolkits and having existed for so long
makes it very likely that people are also using it with specialist
software that is not included in Debian and that we have never heard
of, because thay can just compile their weird things without needing
to know how to install libraries. In general I wouldn't remove things
that work fine and that are used by hundreds of people, just for some
sense of modernity of cleanliness.
I can understand its authors in the 1980s not being able to imagine
64 bit architectures being widespread. I would guess this port will
happen the first time someone wants to use a complex xview application
on their 64-bit platform, but saying "xview !*64" seems reasonable.

While I think of it, Riku, can you campaign for "Architecture: !foo
!bar" in all contexts where "Architecture:" occurs? Given the hundreds
of hours you, I and the package maintainers have wasted saying "please
add armel" that has stopped us tackling the real problems, I think
that would be a valuable investment for all future ports of Debian.

Cheers
