No, you use the standard for for http basic auth,
http://user:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ . This is almost certianly already present in
the url to the rss feed on whatever web site you're using, if that site
uses basic auth. The bug report is irrelivent, upstream rightly did not
use that patch.
