I'm afraid I don't have another solution currently. daemontools is in the same boat as runit concerning this incompatibility, please see http://linux-vserver.org/util-vserver:InitStyles (look for runit) http://bugs.debian.org/306390 If you can find out another reliable solution, I'd be happy to improve the runit and daemontools-run packages.
