This a fresh install from lenny.
most probably it's 'kill -s HUP 1' that's failing in the postinst. Are
you in a virtual server environment, or do you use something different
from sysvinit as init scheme?
Yes I am running linux vserver-2.2.0.7 on debian lenny.
It's important for the daemontools-run package that the added SV inittab
entry comes into effect after the package installation is completed.
That's why it does 'kill -s HUP 1' to signal sysvinit to re-read
/etc/inittab, and so starts up /usr/bin/svscanboot.
Does it help if you configure the vserver with '--initstyle plain'?
Thanks, Gerrit.
The vserver was built with the default. Is there a way to change or will
I have to rebuild the vserver?
