Package: sylpheed Followup-For: Bug #355192 Hi!
This bug is almost fixed in version 2.5.0~beta1-1. The dialog window now has "temporarily accept" and "always accept" buttons. If I click on "always accept", the permanently accepted certificate is stored in ~/.sylpheed-2.0/trust.crt and no complain is shown in successive Sylpheed sessions. Of course, if you had previously worked around the problem as described in my message (dated 31 Jan 2008), then you have to manually move ~/.sylpheed-2.0/certs away, or else you'll never get the dialog window... Please note, that the situation may be further improved, since the dialog window still fails to show complete information about the certificate (no SHA1 fingerprint is displayed, and no validity dates either). Moreover, I couldn't find any SSL certificate manager in Sylpheed menus (what if I don't trust a certificate anymore? have I to manually delete it from ~/.sylpheed-2.0/trust.crt ?). As a consequence, I think this bug should _not_ be closed yet. However, the main issue seems to be solved in version 2.5.0~beta1-1, so we are going in the right direction!
