Looking at the source package, I see asterisk is currently using a
custom cgi in its watch file.

Is there a problem with the replacement Raphael suggested (quoted
above)? If so then please let me know and I'll look at what
modifications, if any, would be required; if not then I'll close the bug
as the functionality requested is already available.
