Please contact your ISP. I'm receiving mails from freenet.de from other
users, and therefore I do not understand why not from you...

As you already have the script, you could do the following:

- check if your device can be used, and if it is:
- start the smsd _using the init.d script provided_.
- give some time for it, for example 20 seconds.
- stop the smsd _using the init.d script provided_.

This will do what you are missing.

There is no reasons to change the SMSTools3, as Patrick already wrote.

all jobs once. Also you can use the logfile to see the status of a daemon.
