However, that page says it was fixed in 1.15, which is what I'm running (also that report was for Ubuntu). Hmm.. I just noticed /proc/asound/version (see below) says 1.14. Do I need a later kernel? http://alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Module-hda-intel has various advice, but I think that stuff is all being done by the Debian infrastructure already (alsa, that page looks a bit dated, maybe pre-udev).
