Thanks Torsten,

I'd like to go ahead and close this bug here, and defer to the upstream patch request.

I'm successfully using this patch myself. I had mentioned at one time I had problems using it with cyrus pop3d, but that was due to a bug in pop3d itself, and fixed in cyrus bug# 2996.

I've also submitted a patch for Howard to look at that performs a Password EXOP if the userPassword attribute gets written back to the sasl_store via ldapdb, such as during a saslpasswd2 command, or when auto_transition is enabled. He was going to do some cleanup on it and I'm expecting he'll pass it on to upstream at some point.

Hi!

Just FYI: The canon_user patch is waiting on the Bugzilla for the upstream of the Cyrus SASL lib as well, but just as of early this week:

https://bugzilla.andrew.cmu.edu/show_bug.cgi?id=3031

Howard Chu had developed this month back and Dan White and myself had been using it any both forget to worry about getting the code committed.

It seems though that the Cyrus SASL people aren't watching their Bugzilla and mailing list that much these days.

Regards,
Torsten
