Yes, the problem isn't present when msttcorefonts is installed.
Thought so... clearly, the application asks for a Microsoft font
(probably Arial), Wine can't find it, so Wine chooses a different font.
Obviously, the difference is in what other font Wine chooses, and
whether that font is legible or illegible... it's a persistent problem,
especially now that policy forbids me from recommending msttcorefonts,
but I wasn't aware that the fontforge version mattered. Which versions
did you use?
