Right. > Hmm... it hadn't occurred to me that people running back-level Debian > systems would attempt to take e2fsck-static and installing it on their > systems. Right, you removed in the past a versioned dependency on my request (thanks). I was already able to find my external harddisk containing Etch where e2fsck-static worked well. But one does not always have access to the newest system if one tries to start e2fsck-static :-) Sometimes only old (but working systems) are lieing around ... > And it looks like woody backports stopped a while ago, so that > wouldn't work as a solution. I start this Woody system less then once per year. I was just forced to do so as this system has a PATA interface as opposed to my notebook or my SCSI Mips workstation. > I will look into disabling TLS support for the bootfloopies udeb > packages, and grab that version of e2fsck when building the > e2fsck-static package. I mainly intended to ask you to specify the minimal required kernel version in the output and to avoid the segfault if you know for sure it will not work with the current kernel. If you are able to make e2fsck.static compatible with even older kernels this would nevertheless be great. I do not need it currently again in Woody but if my Etch disk will fail I have to check it in Woody again :-) PS: After a very long time of inactivity I will try to update and correct the German translation in the translation project. Since you do a really great job that's a good way to say thanks. Jens -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
