I installed a "barebones" lenny system with "xfce4" and "conky"
and could not reproduce the behaviour documented in this bug
report. (OK. I admit that I did this on Xephyr rather than a *real*
xserver!)
I don't think set unreproductible tag to this bug was so fair, as you
don't try on a true Xorg server.
So the problem may be somewhere else --- perhaps with the xserver or
with the library mismatch.
If there is any library mismatch, it is due to wrong dependancies on
package, right ?

:) not needed thanks, as it could be done too with wrong conky settings
(own transparent
window in override mode works and looks really like drawing on root
window).
