Package: mc Version: 1:4.6.0-4.6.1-pre3-1 Severity: important When I set LANG to en_US.UTF8 (or ru_RU.UTF8) midnight commander is not able to show russion file names and mc's menu items properly. It seems to me it has invalid logic of string length calculation. Because latin symbols are displayed correctly, most of the russian symbols displayed too but AFTER russian chars all other chars are drawed at incorrect possition.
As far as I have a lot of files with russian chars I am not able to use mc normaly any more. Sometimes running 'LANG=C mc' helps, when I have no russian chars in file names. Before Debian I was using SuSE 9.1. It have UTF-8 charset too and working mc. I was tring to compile mc from sources using SuSE's patches, but without sucsses. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages mc depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-19 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
