i saw that the other day and wondered if dlocate might benefit from it.

i've just installed mlocate on my system and found that it doesn't
provide frcode (which dlocate requires to build it's own locatedb from
the files lists of installed packages) or any alternative tool that does
the same job.

at this point in time, i can't see any way that dlocate could be made to
use mlocate or mlocate's updatedb program (which seems to have no way of
feeding in your own files list...and which probably insists on stat-ing
each file to find out the ownership & permission details).

i'll investigate further, but don't expect any success.

i'll modify /etc/cron.daily/dlocate so that it uses ionice, like mlocate
and findutils. that should help.
