Hi! I found out a partial workaround for the issue. Between steps 4 and 5 (see my initial bug report), hit the [Esc] key: the find bar vanishes, and no unexpected scroll happens.
This is of course not a solution, since it requires hitting one more key (thus making the operation slower) and is even more unpractical when you want to go on searching after opening the first occurrence in a new tab... Anyway, I think I should share this temporary workaround, so that other users may use it, while waiting for a new xulrunner version that really fixes the bug.
