note that the driver "nv" doesn't support 3d by design. since i've got no experience and no hardware that can be run with nvidia's legacy driver, please try to generate a backtrace of the crashing xorg server as described in the URL i emailed before. also please make sure that you've installed the nvidia legacy driver from the debian packages and not by nvidia's installer - with nvidia's installer scripts so much can go wrong, that things will become unnecessarily complicated to debug. cheers - fuddl
