I don't know exactly the details about hyphenation in groff (except that it's similar to TeX). The default hyphenation rules are defined in: /usr/share/groff/1.18.1/tmac/hyphen.us The next groff releases also include an hyphen.fr and hyphen.de Ideally, a --lang option to pod2man would also include the correct hyphenation rules. If the current German page is hardly readable, I can also disable the hyphenation. (You can see the result by adding a '.nh' line to the man page, after the line starting by '.TH') Kind Regards, -- Nekral
