Oh, i didn't know that something was needed in libapt. I'll add information about this bug report to the "Homepage transition" wiki page in wiki.d.o (I don't have net access as of now to check the page exact name). Michael, Otavio, that patch is worth it. I'm not in position to decide whether it is correct but I suspect that a patch from aptitude's author has great chances to be correct...:)
