Hah, you have a lot more confidence in my abilities than me. I've gotten a local apt package built with my patch, which seems to cause pkgRecords::Lookup to crash. I can't figure out why at the moment; it looks like it doesn't even run any code that I've changed! I'll look at it on the way to work.
