Well, this can't be done globally since it's a per-user choice and not 
everyone wants this change (the symptom sounds like it's usually is the 
result of a wrong X server DPI setting; applying this change here makes the 
fonts look bizarrely, unusably large). 

Anyway, the best I can do is document this in the README. I'm a little 
loathe to do it since I as a rule have no desire to support Google Earth 
itself, and this doesn't have anything to do with the packaging. However, 
since this seems a common enough problem, I'll go ahead and add a note 
about how to acheive this workaround in the next upload.
