I have a PC with Debian unstable. I just bought a HP 1018 printer. It would not print anything. This is a common problem. The answer is to download the firmware separately:
    getweb 1018; arm2hpdl sihp1018.img >
           /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/sihp1018.dl

I feel that omitted documentation that makes a package useless should be considered an "important" bug.

Why is the firmware not included in the package?

Is there some systematic way in Debian to find documentation needed for the installation of a package?
