Package: lastfm Version: 1:1.3.0.58-1 Severity: normal Last.fm allows me to select from physical audio devices only. It means that last.fm is incompatible with any sound server, including dmix. By default the device named "default" should be used. Users can configure the default quite flexibly in their .asoundrc, for example I am using the pulse plugin for alsa, which provides PulseAudio compatibility for any ALSA program. PulseAudio in turn passes the audio data to JACK, so every ALSA program now has JACK compatibility too ... if only they wouldn't think they are the only sound program in the world and hog the sound card for themselves.
In #354405 it was stated that last.fm uses the RtAudio library instead of direct ALSA access, but the only audio library in the dependency list is libasound2, which leads me to believe the statement isn't true. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.3-rt9 (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages lastfm depends on: ii gconf2 2.18.0.1-3 GNOME configuration database syste ii libasound2 1.0.14a-1 ALSA library ii libc6 2.5-9+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.2-20070627-1 GCC support library ii libqt4-core 4.3.0-2+b1 Qt 4 core non-GUI functionality ru ii libqt4-gui 4.3.0-2+b1 Qt 4 core GUI functionality runtim ii libqt4-sql 4.3.0-2+b1 Qt 4 SQL database module ii libstdc++6 4.2-20070627-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library Versions of packages lastfm recommends: ii epiphany-browser [www-bro 2.14.3-6 Intuitive GNOME web browser ii iceweasel [www-browser] 2.0.0.4-0etch1 lightweight web browser based on M ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.1-5.1 WWW browsable pager with excellent -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
