In 1.1.90 lastfm used to use RtAudio, but it was causing too many problems. Beginning with 1:1.1.3.0, I replaced it with AlsaAudio, which is based on the xmms alsa plugin and includes support for the default device.
Upstream adopted AlsaAudio, and started using it in 1.3. In the soundcard config, the default device should be right at the top of the list. For instance, in Tools | Options | Radio | Soundcard I see: HDA NVidia: Default Device (default:0) <-- the default device HDA NVidia: AD198x Analog (hw:0,0) HDA NVidia: AD198x Digital (hw:0,1) What devices do you see?
